What does the term "Freehold Land" mean?
The term "Freehold" in the UK means you will own the land in full, a simple definition would be:
"A freehold interest in property means absolute ownership, although technically all land is held from the Crown."
Wikipedia describes Freehold Land here.
How do you sell your land

Who are the owners of the land at Cranfield Park?
The owners of the land are FirstLand Capital as shown on the official Land Registry document here.
Can I build a house, holiday home, shed... here now?
The land at Cranfield Park is classed as Greenbelt land, so all building work has to be approved by the local Council.
FirstLand Capital, the owners of plots 52-62 on the Development Plan (approved and registered with the UK Land Registry), will at the right time start promoting their land through the Planning Process for a "Change of Use", subject to approval it will go to planning and then for developing.
The planning work will be for the land owned by FirstLand Capital, but it is possible for you, as a neighbouring landowner to benefit from what FirstLand Capital achieve. All this hard work will ultimately benefit the neighbouring land which is being sold off as smaller freehold plots here, by the UK based company CrownLand. So if you are looking to purchase land for an investment, the purchase of these freehold land plots makes sense.
Is there any Tax to pay?
As of January 2009, there is no land tax for properties under £150,000. Visit http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/so/rates/ for more information.
Payment, how do I pay and when?
1. You have to Register first, this can be completed in a few steps here.
Once registered you will be able to log-on to select the plot of land that you want to purchase. Just enter your address, pay a 10% deposit based on the cost of the plot, by Credit Card or by Bank Transfer.
2. On our receipt of the 10% deposit, you will receive the legal "Completion Pack" for you to sign off the documents, pay the remaining balance, the land is then transferred to you through the UK Land Registry office.
The Land is now owed by you.
